The incredible Golf Journey

My name is Brendan Nash and I am a 31 year old serial entrepreneur. My latest venture is a website called www.iGolf.to and its purpose is to network golfers. It is 100% free to use and you could be swinging with new golf mates within seconds of signing up. Well that’s the idea at least.

So far we have around 1400 members and hundreds of golf games under our respective belts.

With all the golf I have been playing recently I am sure you would expect my game to be a lot better than it is... can you relate to this?

Arrived late at the golf course (teeing off at 730am on a Monday morning – the old ladies bright idea). No time to practice, ushered by a grumpy 60 something on to the 1st tee, a lovely straight par 4 with only a scattering of trees on either side, a neat little bunker at around 200 meters then a gentle slope down to the pin surrounded by two lazy bunkers and backlit by pale early morning sky with a quintet of larks belting out Britneys latest horror.

Ignoring the scowling mumbers I hauled out the Tourwood XL 450 10.5º (you know the one that comes without the brand name Cala.. something or other and at around a quarter of the price). I immediately went into my routine to getting the ball right down the middle of the fairway, just to the left of the bunker for a gentle 6 iron onto the green and a one putt for a birdie.

“Tower, this is Tiger Golf two eight seven five x-ray ready to taxi, north departure…”

Tower: "Tiger Wannabe, Golf two eight seven five x-ray, this is tower, wind is two one zero at one zero, altimeter three zero one four, taxi to runway two zero."

“Taxi to two zero, seven five x-ray."

“Tower, Tiger Golf two eight seven five x-ray, at runway two zero, ready for takeoff, north departure.”

Tower: "Tiger two eight seven five x-ray, this is tower, left turn East approved, clear for take off runway two zero."

Thwack!

“Tower, this is Tiger Golf two eight seven five x-ray, we seem to be caught in a small cluster of trees bearing one eight zero five.

Tower: “Divert course bearing two six three zero, to clear fairway for direct and clear skies to destination.

Thwack!

“Tower, this is Tiger Golf two eight seven five x-ray, we seem to be stuck in a sand bunker bearing two five two zero. Implementing evasive measures.

Thwack!

“Tower, this is Tiger Golf two eight seven five x-ray, we seem to be having a power problem and have not reached destination…

Thwack!

“Tower, this is Tiger Golf two eight seven five x-ray, unexpected winds we seem to be caught in another bunker… implementing evasive action…

Thwack!

“Tower, Tiger Golf two eight seven five x-ray, East, inbound landing”

Tower: "Tiger Golf two eight seven five x-ray, report left base for runway two zero, wind is two one zero at eight, altimeter three zero one four."

Putt!

“Report left base Tiger Golf two eight seven five x-ray.”

Tower: “Seven five x-ray, clear to land runway two zero.”

Putt!

“Tower, aborting landing, circling for approach…”

Putt!

Tower: “Stop messing about and putt the ball in the bloody hole!
